He weeps with you...

"But behold, because of the exceedingly great length of the war between the Nephites and the Lamanites many had become hardened, because of the exceedingly great length of the war; and many were softened because of their afflictions, insomuch that they did humble themselves before God, even in the depth of humility."  Alma 62:41

You can take your trials to God with a humble heart, or you can harden yourself against Him.  Sometimes the easy way is to blame God for letting things happen to you that seem awful.  But when you go to Him and ask for His help, He will always be there to guide you back.

He weeps not only FOR you, but with you.

Best Friends...a realization

I have come to realize something.

It is hard to lose a friend.  A friend that you care so much about, have so many good memories with, who knows you possibly better than you know yourself, who you can laugh about really everything with.

But sometimes you need more from your friends than they are able to give.  Sometimes they need more from you than you are able to give.  And in some friendships, that will never change.  And it will just bring you down in the long run.

So even though you really love that friend and you hope all the best for them, you can't keep bringing each other down.  You have to let each other go live and be happy.  You have to let them find other friends who can give them what they need.

Yes.  It's really hard to lose a friend.

My Bucket List

So it's been since like....October since I posted one of these.  I've had insomnia for the past week or so, just can't sleep.  I saw that one of my friends posted a blog entry, and I thought, oh maybe that'd be interesting.  So I came on here and I saw this bucket list that I started working on in November or December.  I'm not sure it's complete, which is why I never posted it, but I guess I can always add on.

Here goes!

1. Go to (and possibly live in Washington D.C.)
2. Tour Europe...on a tight budget...because that might be really fun
3. Skydive
4. Learn how to rock climb
5. Learn Chinese
6. Finish a triathlon (probably just the Sprint...maybe the Olympic)
7. Be in a movie
8. Make a Genealogy Book
9. Adopt a child
10. Visit every state
11. Write a book (and maybe get it published?)
12. Go on a cruise
13. Ride on a REAL gondola...in the REAL Venice...with a REAL Italian  (shout out to my gondolier family!)
14. Plant a garden
15. Change somebody's life...for the better (sounds kinda like A Walk to Remember....CHEESY!)
16. Go to Thailand again because it's seriously the most beautiful place I have ever seen in my life
17. Be part of a non-profit organization or charity (I'm thinking I might start one someday...we'll see)

Well!  That's what I have so far.  Wish me luck!

(Number ONE is happening in MAY, and I'm totally STOKED!)
